I am Yimeng Cao (曹依梦, Cáo Yī Mèng), the author of Business Chinese book series and the writer behind this Business Chinese learning blog. I created this blog to help expats and international professionals learn practical Mandarin Chinese that they can actually use in real work and daily life in China.
I am from Lanzhou (兰州, Lán zhōu), a city famous for its beef noodles (兰州拉面 Lán zhōu lā miàn). Growing up in a place where food culture and communication are such an important part of daily life, I developed a strong appreciation for how language connects people, especially across different regions and cultures.
Why I Started This Business Chinese Blog
When I first started teaching and working with expats, I noticed something very common: many students knew textbook Chinese, but still struggled in real business situations, like meetings, emails, negotiations, or even simple workplace conversations.
So I built this blog to focus on what really matters: practical Business Chinese for real communication. Not just isolated vocabulary, but full sentences, natural expressions, and cultural understanding that help you sound more confident and natural in Chinese workplaces.
